Controlling axis movement via physical buttons

Hi all -

I’ve seen a number of control panels over the last few months that people have crafted that allow the user to move/zero/center/etc the shapeoko.

Does anyone have some tutorial or details I can stare at for a bit?

I use a 10-key Bluetooth keypad, they’re less than $20 on Amazon last I checked. The commands work as follows:
With Num Lock off:
Keys 2-4-6-8 will jog X/Y
Keys 3 and 9 are Z axis

With Num Lock on:
1-4 set speed increment

There’s additional ones that can be used on your standard keyboard, and hopefully @WillAdams will chime in shortly as he has made a diagram showing that (I can’t seem to find it at the moment).

Something like this:

I dig it! And I’ll probably end up going up with something like this.

However, I’m still contemplating building some kind of control panel with physical buttons, a switch, jog wheel, etc.

Much like any of these kinda projects, I need to stare at some examples and figure out if it is/isn’t possible.

I’m working on something like this right now. I posted something about it last week:

I hope to make some more progress on it this weekend so I can update the thread.
