Looking for a monitor mount

I’m looking for a wall mount for a 19" LCD touch monitor that I can mount to the side of an enclosure, or, worst case, the wall. Anyone have some recommendations on things that worked particularly good for you? I really don’t have room on my table to mount a “table mount” type, so need another option. I currently have it mounted to a nearby grinder…that can’t stay though…

I found these on sale at Microcenter one day for $19.99 apiece. So I bought two. I have ad good luck with them.

I personally use this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010QZCT5W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (in use: My introduction out of the way)

I also use their dual monitor arm version for my home office workstation

I mounted a FLEXIMOUNTS M10 laptop swing arm to the side of the bench I built for my XXL. I do not recommend this mount though, because it has way too much bounce! While the Shapeoko is running of course I expect the laptop/arm to bounce, but with this one, even tightened all the way down, you can’t even type on the laptop without it bouncing all around. I would definitely try to find something in a local shop that you can actually see/touch. I thought I was getting quality because I was spending much more money… shame on me.

(I will take a picture later if I remember)

For the purposes of rigidity and cost, I have never purchased a mount. I make them. My preferred starting point is a speaker wall mount (I picked up a bunch with good ball swivels at a boot sale a few years ago, but have also used the eye-bolt style). A square of 3mm steel plate with five holes in it, a few screws, and done. Not a lot of adjustability, but very rigid and very secure.

I have done maybe a dozen or 15 of these in the last 10 years between home and work and had zero failures.

EDIT: just got home from work. Attached is a pic of one mount. Others are similar, with details varying based on the actual VESA size and config of the attachment device. I think my total cost averages about $US2, as the steel plates are about $US1.50 (column shim plates from the steel yard, 3mm thick, in assorted sizes). Maybe 15min to mark up, drill, and mount.

$10, has standard mounting holes to fit most monitors, works well in most applications.

How well does the pole work for this? Is it reasonably sturdy?

The “pole” is a length of 3/4" square tubing, welded to a mounting plate that I bolted to the skirt of the desk. It works fine.
