Must have bits to start my adventure

Look for the must have bits for my new XXL… Thanks Jack

Any ideas on what you’re going to be making?
There will be different answers from those that cut aluminum, carve signs, carve reliefs, make guitars, or mill PCBs.

IMHO two: 1/4” 2 flute carbide, 1/8” 2 flute carbide. These will cut both wood and aluminum and on and on.

After you’ve done some cutting with those, the next two will be 1/8” and 1/4” 2 flute ball nose carbide. These will cut both wood and aluminum and on and on.

I wouldn’t bother with all the other myriad offerings until you get some experience cutting.

I get most of my mills from these guys: https://www.ebay.com/usr/roguesystemsinc

Will be doing wood… Signs and carvings… thanks

Thanks for the info…

In addition to what @Griff mentioned, I’d look at Whiteside 90 degree and 60 degree V-bits. You’ll also want to use a downcut end mill for bottom surfacing/pocketing in wood.

Thanks Neil for the info… can use all the info I can get
