S3 changing path randomly squishing x axis

I’ve had this cutter for a few years, and it’s worked off and on for me. Right now the cutter will start off ok, but slowly start cutting squished on the x axis. Any Ideas? It was cutting fine last year, then turned it on and it’s doing this now.

Probably your Z-axis belt needs to be re-tensioned or replaced.

The Z affects the Y?

SOMETIMES: All the cuts are stepping to the left and down like backwards stairs.

OR: It’s squishing X axis

OR: it’s just fine.

All these without any adjustments to the machine.33%20PM

Lost steps?

Please check your belt tension, and check your belts for damage — make sure that your pulley set screws are in place and tight ( http://docs.carbide3d.com/shapeoko-faq/shapeoko-3-how-to-check-the-pulley-set-screws/ ) also check the eccentrics: http://docs.carbide3d.com/support/tensioning-eccentrics/

Copy that. I’m on it.

I had a similar issue, I was loosing steps on the Z this lead me to loose steps on the X/Y because Z got caught. I’d be all over that Z belt.
