Getting these small groves when cutting large areas with #102 0.125 Flat End Mill.
Would adjusting stepover correct this.
Currently set to 0.056 which is the default setting.
Is there a formula for setting stepover. I saw somewhere where it should be 10% of mill diameter

You need to tram the spindle - looks like it’s out of alignment.

The rules of thumb aren’t very specific. <10% for a finish pass is a good place to start, but you can potentially use almost 100% for a roughing pass. You’ll generally want to leave a little Z to clean up in a finishing pass though so that any end mill bending that would mess up the bottom of the cut can get cleaned up.
