Wooden coasters with inlay

(Brent Halbersma) #1

Hello everyone. This is my first project with the Nomad Pro. I used a 1/32” and 0.0157” diameter endmill for the small portions of inlay. The base is walnut and the inlay is maple. One coaster is the Nebraska Cornhuskers logo and the other is the State and US highways in the county I grew up in. The Nomad is an amazingly precise machine, I’m very impressed

I admire your patience with such delicate inlays. Well done!

Very nice. I’ve done some coasters to practice inlays as well. I love walnut and have also used epoxy with pigment.
My post on it:

looks great, I have not messed with inlay stuff myself…yet, brain hurts thinking about it. Below is my Husker work.
