Z axis too high

Glad it’s working, but that sounds like a solution to a different problem from your original post.

Just to point something obvious out here…

If the cut on one side of the wasteboard isn’t the same as it is on the other side…the machine ->is not square<-. At most, you should be taking a few 10s of thousandths off to make it take out the last bit of un-square to the axis.

If that’s making things work, that points all the more to the z axis belt being loose, or some other mechanical issue there that’s made better when there is less force on the axis - it has to fight the springs on the sides of the carriage, and raising the wasteboard reduces the spring tension it’s fighting to cut low.
