0687 Eagle carved in Mahogany

Just finished this Eagle today. The STL file came from Vitale Diaconu as part of my Club-A subscription and I can’t share it so don’t ask. The picture doesn’t do it justice.

It’s Mahogany and finished with General Finishes Seal-A-Cell. It’s about 11.5 inches tall. Took about 5 hours total carving including the roughing pass on a Shapeoko 3 HDZ. The Gcode was generated from Vcarve Pro.

Well maybe you can link to the source so others can buy it too?

Beautiful work Gary. Yeah, the Seal-A-Cell is a really good product and can be used for a variety of applications.

On Facebook look up the Group called CNC Users Forum, that’s the gateway to joining Club A (approaching 700 models). You can see them at http://www.club-a-models.com/index.html

Vitale has Etsy store where a portion of the models are available individually. https://www.etsy.com/shop/3dmodelsMD?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=676203320

Great Job Gary, man that came out beautifully!

What was your process in Vcarve? I.e. roughing/finishing with what stepovers and bits used?

Rough was pretty aggressive. Here are the settings for this run. I did bump up the speed 10% on the finishing pass.
