1/2" Shank on Spindle?

I have seen a couple posts in the past about people running 1/2" shanks on their Carbide spindles.
How would someone go about making this upgrade?

I believe that these mentions would be of the Shapeoko HDM with its ER-20 collet.

There is an 80mm mount being developed for the Shapeoko 5 Pro w/ a matching spindle — not sure what collet system it would have but most (all?) 80mm spindles have ER-20 collets.

There are 80mm mounts for the HDZ available in our shop for the SO3/4/Pro.
