I ran a job in wood that pushed my XXL /Makita router a bit too hard. Thought I had run a similar job in the past without issue but the memory gets worse with age.
Anyway, I stopped the job and found a 1.5mm set screw on the wood blank and can’t determine yet where it came from. I have take the Z off and verified that there are 2 set screws in the X, Y and Z motor pulleys. Where else are these set screws used?
The pulley set screws are 3mm around. Send a pic of screw. What z do you have? There are no 1.5mm screws on Shapeoko that I am aware of. If you mean length the diameter is more important than length.
I was referring to the screw as 1.5mm as that’s the necessary allen key. I should have been more precise.
I ended up finding where it fell out from. My XXL has the original Z and on the back of the plate that holds the router mount is a pulley that doesn’t rotate. It was one of the 2 set screws from that pulley. Seems a bit odd that it would back itself out but with enough vibration I guess it’s possible.
