I just finished my entry for my woodworking club coming up in October. It is a dog bowl stand with 3 levels. Depending on what size dog you have you simply take out the two bolts on each side and lower/raise the platform. The top platform was cut on my so3.
The Woof and dog paw may get painted or filled with black epoxy. I have until October 7th to finish it up. Leaning to epoxy so there is no place to collect debris.
I got the plastic dog bowls at Ollies which is a discount department store.
I put 3 layers of painters tape around the Woof and Dog Paw and one layer that I folded about 1/3 back to keep the epoxy from running. I put dewaxed shellac in and around the cut outs to help keep the epoxy from soaking in the surrounding wood. I poured the epoxy on my tablesaw outfeed table that I made sure was level. Will post the results.
I made some finger holes to remove the dog bowls. They did not cut all the way through. I will address that later. I think the areas are too small for a router bit to fit into. So may use a scrollsaw to cut them the rest of the way out. If I leave them with a bottom they would collect dirt, dog food and water.
