30° V Groove in "select tool" missing?

I am looking to use 30° Vee in Advanced VCarve Toolpath and one is not showing as an option.

Thoughts?

I don’t think there is a 30 degree tool in the included library. You will have to create a new tool for it.

I think this video covers that.

That was a super fast solution! Thanks for your help. It was 100% what I needed.

I remember when I first got started I missed so many simple mundane things because my little brain was just over whelmed with all the info flooding in. Everyone here is super patient and helpful, glad I could do the same for you.

Actually, there is a 30 degree tool in the library — it’s just listed as an Engraver, not a V tool:

That said, I did enter it as a V tool:

but please check and test the feeds and speeds and so forth as described at:

For more on tooling see:

Yup! Information overload is EXACTLY right! This is how I’m feeling sometimes while trying to drink from the “water hose of information” about CNC work.

Excellent info, Will!! As always :grinning:. This is going to help for sure!!

This is why we try to break things down into steps such as:

https://carbide3d.com/hub/courses/running-shapeoko/hello-contour/

https://carbide3d.com/hub/courses/running-shapeoko/hello-pocket/

https://carbide3d.com/hub/courses/running-shapeoko/hello-vcarve/

Based on my experience from support, folks who work through all three of those are well-prepared for:

after which folks usually do pretty much anything which they are inclined to do (and anyone who has a problem can ask for help here or via support)
