starting to get used to the 3d features on my Shapeoko pro but every 3D grayscale cut i do on 3/4 pine starts well into the wood, these are all practice projects but seems i may be missing something very obvious. how do i get my 3d project to start cutting closer to the face of the wood not halfway thru?
What stock thickness are you using?
How thick is the model?
Could you post a file and a photo of an attempt at cutting?
Are you using the 3D Rough toolpathing to clear out upper material first?
3D Finish Tool paths follow the surface of the 3D model down to however deep it may be without regard to material depth.
