I’m new to Carbide Create Pro. I have a 3D project in progress. It’s still on the machine. I did a roughing pass and a finishing pass. It looks great, but it’s too tall in the Z direction and I want to take another 1/8" finishing pass. What’s the easiest way to do that?

I can’t post the actual file because I purchased it. But here’s an example file I threw together to illustrate - a simple 2" high dome.

The part has been cut, but it’s too tall and I want to take another finishing pass to shave 1/8" off the entire object. The only thing I can think of is to go to current “Z” zero, lower it by 1/8" and set that as the new Z zero. Then run the finishing pass again. Will that work? Or is there a more elegant solution?
Yes - The profile of the actual file requires a ballnose for the finishing pass. The dome is just an example to illustrate an object that needs to be reduced in height.
Sorry, I’m not following how this reduces the height.
Draw the two tools in profile.
Can you just move to a clear area on the board and then lower to z -.125 and then hit zero Z?
1/8 seems like a lot for a finishing pass. Would running the roughing again and then the finish work?
If you lower your Z, the toolpath will move straight down & the part will be shorter.
If you lower your Z .125 and use a tool that is 0.25 bigger the part will be smaller all around

Yes I can - Sounds like that’s the method to use.
I agee - 1/8" sounds too aggressive for a finishing pass. Perhaps a couple or three finishing passes instead to sneak up on what I need.
