3D Renderings Not Consistent

I have started using my Carbide Create Pro and am trying to import STL files to carve some interesting pieces. My problem seems to be that the height of the carve does not come out equal throughout the pattern. Some letters, for example, are carved lower than other letters. Even the same letter will have two different heights carved in it. Is there a fix to this that I am unaware of or am I just not doing something correctly? Overall, the piece looks good, but it is just not consistent throughout the complete piece. I have even tried a second Finishing Pass with a finer bit, but still have the same problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The default import for an STL in CC Pro has a thickness of 3mm — are you changing this to match the height of that axis of the STL?

I have no info on the STL, just what I download. I am using 0.75 material with a depth carve of 035 and a height for the insignia of .375. I am new to tis, so I am not sure what you are asking. Does this help? Thanks so much.

Post your .c2d and .stl files?

I tried Zipping the files but they are too big to go in this message.

“C:\Users\james\Pictures\SVG Files\NavyEmblem.c2d”
“C:\Users\james\OneDrive\STL\11351 Navy Forced.STL”

It is not possible for us to access your local drive (C:) — you will need to upload them to Google Drive or some other file sharing service.

I am not that computer savy, so it may take me a while to figure it out.

OK. I have my STL file and my .c2d file in my google drive. How do I give you access?

Post the link here (if it’s a public file) or e-mail the link to support@carbide3d.com — make sure the file has been shared/set to be available to anyone who has the link.

Ok, I was able to email these two files to support@carbide3d.com. Sorry I am not very computer literate and I certainly appreciate your patience.
NavyEmblem. c2d and Navy Forced.stl. I will owe you forever.

The file seems to be modeled quite shallowly:

The toolpath seems fine:

If you make the stepover smaller:

The results may be more to your liking:

and seems to be a good match for the STL:

If the cutting isn’t matching the 3D preview then it would probably indicate a mechanical issue when cutting the file — post a photo showing the problem with the cut?

I carved a new one using the 0.01 Stepover but the carve came out exactly the same. The letters are still no carving correctly. Some stand tall while others look great. It is the same letters on each of the three carves I have made. They all look the same. I tried another carve, and it came out great. I have sent an email to the creator but they have not answered me. I think the error is in the STL file. Do you think that is possible?
