@jtclose any word on how that 3DMakerPro scanner is doing?
@CullenS I tried it for about an hour or so when I first got it. I got limited results due to brain overload with new So5 and other toys.
I just got an email from the vendor offering my money back +$40 . Seems a firmware update to resolve a Connect issue is coming.
By the tone of the email, they screwed up.
If I want to keep it I get 20$ and tech support.
The infamous and elusive vapor ware. Always the next update will solve all your problems. What they (any vendor) dont say is we fix this and break 3 other things. ![]()
As a software developer myself I’m always amazed that the internet or anything else actually works. You lift the hood on a piece of software and see the code…. Quickly slam it shut and pretend you didn’t see anything.
I have been involved in development as one and then later manager of many. Not sure if I coined this phrase or stole it from someone else but I sure used it a lot:
“A developer never sees a piece of code that doesn’t need to be rewritten even if they were the one to write it in the first place”
@jtclose that is an interesting approach from the company. At least they are not leaving their user base out to dry. Keep us posted on what you do.
