5pro feed hold functionality

So I’ve had a 3xxl for several years with a spindle for 3 years. I installed a feed hold button a couple years ago. When depressed it turns off the spindle , raises the spender and waits for a resume command.

I’ve got my 5pro 4x4 Up and running with a carbide router for now, hoping I can manage an adapter to mount a Chinese pos spindle mount until carbide has one available.

When I hit the feed hold on the 5pro with the router it just stops in place. It does not rise. Does not call for router speed change.

What am I to expect when I have a spindle installed and controlled by the shapeoko controller?

I’m really hoping it still turns the spindle off and raises. Really liked that.

I believe feed-hold functionality is dependent on Carbide Motion version, not the specific machine hardware.

Well I didn’t update my carbide motion software in 3-4 years. So I’m being introduced to some new things.

With The new software being in beta still , would it be possible to have menu to select what the button does?
