Was doing my first test cut. Some simple text. Found my zero, set the bit, ran the spindle warm up. Got through 2 1/2 letters and it just slowly turned off. Push button stayed lit red, no breaker trip, spindle wasnt hot, hasn’t turned on since. Any ideas?
Interesting you said “slowly turned off”.
Did the plug on the spindle back out ? The collar on mine will loosen over time and needs to be tightened.
Does the spindle spin manually with little to no resistance ?
Sorry i say slowly because i noticed it was just free spinning after the the first passes on the “U” and didn’t sound like it was still on, then once it started making contact with the wood again i hit the stop cause i saw it the bit had stopped and didn’t want to break the bit. The collett spins easily, and i unplugged and replugged everything about 10x. It only ran about 3 min of a 25 min job and the power plug on top was still tight. Is there supposed to be any lights on, on the top of the spindle controller?
Does the warm up cycle still work ?
I have an older model, but yes the button should be lit.
My VFD controller has red led number display, yours look LCD.
I assume you see good numbers.
Sounds like an email to support maybe speed the resolution.
Warm up cycle doesn’t work. No numbers or lights on display. I already sent a support email, but always like to check with the community in the meantime, in case someone has had the same problem or if I’m just being a noob.
I assume the machine gantry light is on, it does initialize and jog, so it’s only the VFD that is a problem.
Out of my league, calvary is on the way.
I have the older model VFD and accidentally pulled the power cord out of its socket by the power switch. If your power cord plugs into the VFD be sure it’s plugged in all the way and secure.
Yeah ive plugged and unplugged everything like 10x now, can’t find any loose wires or connections, no signs of power when wiggling connections while it should be doing something during warm up.
