Adding a tool error message

Hi Guys and girls, I have tried to add a new tool to my library and got as far as putting all the relevant information into the fields only for the software to keep resetting my diameter and plunge rate fields. I then keep getting this error message “plungerate must be between 0.500 and 10000.000”
Has anyone else had this problem.

Usually this happens when the units in Job Setup for the file are set to one unit (say Imperial inches), but the tool is added in the other unit (say metric millimeters).

Change the unit in Job Setup to match the sort of units which you wish to enter the tool in, or explicitly indicate units for all inputs.

You are running into this bug:

BUG - Adding new tool improperly applying metric / imperial conversion

CC PRO 815. Add a new V mill, inches. Set diameter to 0.375, hit ‘=’. Diameter changes to 0.0148 EXPECT - since no units provided, value should be interpreted as INCHES. Also, adding ‘in’ as a unit messes things up as well. If the diameter is set to “0.375in”, then the tool ends up as 2.0 inches. No idea at all how it managed to get that.

As noted above, change the units of the PROJECT to match the units of the tool while adding or editing tools. Once you are done you can safely change the Project units to your preference.
