I have a water cooled spindle set up in CM. Are we able to adjust the spindle speed while running a carve? Would it be controlled with Gcode?
There is as-yet no override for spindle speed as there is for feed rate in Carbide Motion.
Yes, it is controlled with G-code, but if the setting isn’t as one wants, it would be necessary to quit the file, regenerate with new speeds, then re-send.
I have an Invertek Optidrive VFD driving my spindle. I have mounted a relay in a plastic box to allow the BitRunner to turn the spindle on and off and a potentiometer which allows me to adjust the RPM’s on the fly. The relay and potentiometer are wired into a connector block on the VFD. This means I can adjust the spindle revolutions to try to minimise noise. I don’t know if other VFD’s have that facility.
