Since Build 514 was released, I have been having issues with Advanced V-Carve. Whenever I use the Advanced V-Carve option, the software does not work properly.
The picture I attached shows the issue. I am trying to do an advanced v-carve using an 1/8 inch endmill and a 60 vee to touch up the edges. The highlighted section in the picture does not get cut. I have made a couple flags where the vee traces the outline of the stripe but leaves a thin strip that I have to go in and chisel out/clean up each time. This image is the same issue I face when I make my flags. I did not have this issue with the previous build. I’ve tried removing and re-downloading both carbide create and motion; hasn’t fixed the issue.
I posted something on the shapeoko facebook group and I know there are others with this issue. Is there any way I can download a previous build until this issue is fixed?
I have not wanted to use my machine in part because of this issue…
Usually on an advanced v carve areas that are not cut out by the end mill are smaller than the endmill. The endmill will not cut in a space that is smaller than the endmill. It looks like the small area you highlighted might be smaller than 1/8 of an inch.
You could set a 1/16 inch end mill and see in the simulation if the area is cut. I am not suggesting your cut with a 1/16 inch end mill just see if your area would be cut. If it would be cut by a 1/16 inch endmill then increase the scale of your design until an 1/8 inch end mill would fit or if that is not possible cut with a 1/16 end mill.
I appreciate your response but I know for a fact that this is not what is causing the issue I’m having. I’ve made many flags that have come out great. I downloaded the new 514 build and noticed I started having issues with advanced v carve on my flags. I sent in the G-Code and c2d. Very responsive team that intends to look further into it
