Align functions not working

When using the “Align / Space” functions to align two or more shapes, clicking two consecutive Alignments don’t reference the new shape locations and instead reference the original location.

Take for example these two rectangle. I want them to be aligned together at both of their bottom-left corners.

In order to align how I want, I would click the “Align inside edge” - Left and then Down (or the reverse). However, when you do that, the shape will only ever end up the aligned position based on the original shape positions. It will either be left aligned, or bottom aligned, but never combined bottom-left. The only way to do this is to click one alignment direction, deselect the shapes, reselect, and then select the next alignment operation.

Using CC 815. I want to say prior CC versions had this functionality, but I haven’t tested them.

It is my understanding that the Align Vectors command is intended to accomplish a single operation for each invocation.

It is necessary to click “Ok” and then select the command again in order to accomplish a second operation.

This was discussed before:

The consensus at that time is that the behavior of the Alignment dialog is wrong, since it is inconsistent with the scale and rotate dialogs.
