Another computer question for CM and CC

I am considering a new computer to mostly run CM but would like to make adjustments in CC when necessary. I have a S5.0 2x4. It seems to meet the necessary criteria but I was not sure about the Snapdragon processor. I did see an earlier question regarding snapdragon, but since things are constantly evolving, I thought I would ask. Will the specs outlined below work for CM and CC?

That seems to be an Arm processor.

System requirements for Windows are:

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit (Intel or AMD)

Does Microsoft have a working Intel → Arm compatibility layer (which includes drivers)?

I am clueless to your last question but since the processor is not intel or AMD, then it appears the answer is “no” that computer would not work. Thanks for the reply. That is why I wanted to ask the question before I pulled the trigger.

For what it’s worth, the latest Windows ARM chips include a translation layer that runs Intel software, and it appears to work well. (I’ve only tested it with a Surface Pro from Microsoft, since that was the product that launched the new chips)

We haven’t added ARM to the officially supported platforms because earlier ARM chips Microsoft shipped lack the Intel translation system, and that’s a difficult thing to message clearly.

So, it will probably work, but make sure there’s a return policy, just in case.

Thanks Rob, I may give it a try. It’s from Costco, so I would have 90 days to give it a shot
