Another Limit Switch Error

Are you setting your work zero? If you’re not, your machine may be trying to get somewhere beyond its limits.

I’m trying to work that out are there any videos on how to do it.
Thanks.

Hi I have followed the tutorial and zero the machine after loading the gcode file,I then press begin project and everything seems to be going ok but then the machine moves all the way to the right and hits the switch, it keeps doing it, is there anyway to stop it moving all the way to the switch?
This is seriously driving me mad I’m going to skip this machine seriously.

Please describe step-by-step:

  • what you did
  • what you expected
  • what actually happened

I believe you’re having some difficulty with setting zero.

Since the homing switches seem to be working well you may want to update to Grbl 1.1 and CM4 which will match the current documentation.

Thanks, but it warns that may brick the unit.
However I have managed to get it to work with a file emailed over from the person who sold me the machine but your tutorial files sent the gantry all the way to the right and hit the switch seconds into the job despite setting to zero.
Do I have to set limits to match both files or something to limit the movement?

You have to set zero relative to the stock to match how zero is set in the file.
