I am trying to find some information on if there is away to see an input with GCODE I would like to pause the machine until it sees a certain input for a project. Also it would make my life a lot easier if there was an output accessible though gcode.
I am used to the 3d printer world where this stuff is readily available, I find it puzzling to not have any access to things like this that I can find. I see there is an accessory header not in use, I am it would be nice to get access to It, I am sure there is a some inputs and outputs there.
We do not have such an accessory or feature available at this time.
To my knowledge, the pinouts for the accessory connector on the SO5 Pro have not been released/documented, and I’m pretty sure if someone put in a support ticket with a photo showing something connected there, the first things we’d ask would be to unplug it.
That said, you may find a 3rd party communication/control program more workable, esp. if you aren’t using Carbide Create — the Grbl folks keep a list:
I see, looks like the real solution is to just replace the CNC controller I was hoping not to have to leave the carbide ecosystem behind aside from this issue I really like it.
My machine is old enough to be out of warranty anyway so it is what it is.
