I just got word from Apple that they will no longer support “Intel” based applications on the Mac. Both Carbide Create and Carbide Motion are “Intel” based. I am using a Mac for my Shapeoko 5.1 Pro. Will there be an update?
Thanks,

To add more concrete information, we’re trying to get one more build out to restore gamepad support early next week. Then we expect one or two releases for bug fixes in the coming weeks. Once we’re done with that, we plan to move on to Apple Silicon only.
Have you looked at the Neo to see how it performs? I’m just looking at less expensive options.
As far as I know, the M series had some additional instructions or changes to make Intel emulation more efficient, and I’m not sure the A series chip has those. If that’s correct, I’d expect the Intel builds to take a bigger performance hit on a Neo than an M chip, but I think that goes away when we begin to compile for Apple Silicon.
But we don’t have a Neo, so that’s all speculation.
