Asking for help with wall art toolpaths

I am making a 27inx20in relief map of the state of Colorado. I have my rough and finish dialed in to where I like them. The trouble I am having is determining start depth for another toolpath where I am pocketing the 1-12 digits for a clock that I want to place in the south east corner of the state where it is mostly flat. I know my depth per pass for my rough and finish, 2.5mm and .5mm. I watched the simulation and there are 3 rough passes and 1 finish so I added those depths to get 8mm. I am pretty new to cnc and definitely novice with more complex projects. Could really use some help and guidance on how to approach adding my clock numbers/knowing cut start depth. Thank you!

Screen grab showing the current state of things?

Try making a small test file and cutting that?

i am adjusting the start and max depth hoping the simulation will help and each time the toolpath remains empty

Was my mistake, numbers were not sized for the bit I chose so no pocket could be made. Chose correct bit then got a great visual with the simulation and depth I need to start. thanks for the reply WillAdams.

That sounds like a cool project. You should share a picture when you’ve made it.

I would just run the 3D tool path. Let that finish, then I would rezero my Z on the machine above the area you want to put the clock. EZ.
