Attempted import of cd2 with model

Trying NOT to be behind the eight ball this Christmas. Working on ornaments NOW rather than December 5.

I’ve created several designs which I anticipate make for family & friends. Each fits in a roughly 3" square. They are primarily model creations. Would like to be able to mass produce / copy one design onto a 25" wide board, yielding 6 or 7 in one run.

Just tried importing the “Master” cd2 and found that it didn’t bring in the detail based on the model, only elements that were created by the usual 2D toolpaths. Shouldn’t it have pulled in the model parts also?

If the 3D model is not imported thus, then you can do so by instead exporting it as a PNG file:

and then re-importing that pixel image as a depth map with the appropriate settings — note that it may be imported multiple times, each time it is imported it will be centered on the currently selected geometry.
