Bad loss of Z zero

So I was making a part of a three piece light fitting for a friend. I had had some problems with work holding and damaged previous pieces. However I had three pieces of wood that I had glued up remaining. So I could do it. I had done the adaptive clearance toolpath from underneath and a smoothing path with a round nose bit. I flipped it over and did the drill hole and the daptive toolpath, and was about to use the round nose bit to smooth it off, when I noticed that my laptop power was getting a little low. The charger was plugged into the power board but not turned on. So I turned it on and started my smoothing pass. There was an unusually loud cutting noise and we have what you can see in the picture. I guess the laptop power supply turn on put a pulse through the Shapeoko electronic board and reset my Z zero.
So I went upstairs and had two cups of tea, and thought about something else for a day or two…

Ouch. It hurts only looking at the picture, I can only imagine the feeling :scream:
It would be the first time I hear about an EMI issue inducing a loss of Z zero with no loss of USB communication, though. I guess you are not really in the mood to spend time looking for other possible causes…but if you intend to rerun this, it is worth double-checking the finishing pass toolpath in the G-code file ? It’s pretty easy to mistype a value in Fusion somewhere, like a start depth or offset to start depth.
And now that this happened once, until this mystery is solved you may want to jog down manually to Z=0 just before running the finishing pass to make sure it is where it should be.
