Still trying to get things square on my new XL. I noticed my left Y axis carriage is bent front to back at the top. The bottom half of the carriage is fine, so it seems to be related to the x axis extrusion. See pictures… the front half and back half of the carriage are straight, but there is a bend in the middle. I loosened the eccentrics and belt tension and nothing changed. The right carriage has the shame shape going on but nothing near this magnitude. What to do? Shim the front edge of the x axis extrusion?
Shim, or machine the ends of the extrusion — suggest starting with the shims.
If the plate itself is bent, one may be able to lay it across a threshold on top of a towel and stand on it to take the bend out — that’s one of things I had to do to my Shapeoko 1 plates.
