So often we only come here to say that the SO3 in some way either physically or mentally has tried it’s best to kill us.
However i have come here today to thank all the Carbide staff, you are all great and have given me not only great support but fun too with such a cool product.
I just wish @WillAdams was more visible on the forums as i am not sure what he does all day i suggest you look into him (i am also not sure he actual knows Anyang about CNCing) LOL J/K @WillAdams you are my Yoda and when things go up in flames i know you are not far away with a response that should now start with … Hold My Beer i got this!!
I have received Swag / Goodies that I and my SO3 wear with pride, i got this for nothing more than joining in with the community, and tried to help as we all do by giving advice on how we fixed the issues that most post here.
So to all at C3D Staff and Leanne who sent the best stickers EVER!! i wish you all a happy Christmas and prosperous New Year!!
Ditto. On such a niche market proximity with the end user is key, and they get that. It’s refreshing to get to be in contact with the people who actually make this product. Also, THANK YOU (@WillAdams and the gang) for keeping this lowkey community forum alive (the FB group is not for everyone…)
I raise my glass to the next 10.000 Shapeokos, to the great surprises that @Luke still has up its sleeve, and to having fun with our machines
EDIT: oh and I did not include any specifics, but it’s only been a great experience since I bought the machine wondering how long it would take for me to get bored and move on to something else. Still waiting for that to happen.
I haven’t had the need for support in a technical sense, but I’ve received the benefit of the support to others on this forum. I can tell you that I am trying desperately to loosen some setscrews and strip some belts by carving out some dust!
Yes! Thanks to all for the information that led to my purchase (finally!) of this machine.
I wholeheartedly agree! I haven’t needed “Carbide 3D” support yet, but I’ve certainly received help from @WillAdams. He is always on this forum and I see his name on many others as well. I don’t know how he gets time to do anything else.
Many Thanks to @WillAdams and the rest of the Carbide 3D staff - Merry Christmas!!!
Thank you @WillAdams for your support and comment on this forum but also thanks to all members who contribute their knowledge and expertise in this forum.
Yep, relatively new here, but the support has been fantastic, the company has responded to my issues quickly twice now. Thanks a bunch for the help and the product.
and Have a safe and happy MERRY Christmas
It’s a rare day when I don’t come on here and learn something new. The forum allows me to indulge in some ‘machining time’ in between my not-machining reality.
I haven’t had much direct interaction with the Carbide 3D staff, but that is mostly because everything is pretty much here, either in the archives or ready for somebody to explain at the drop of the hat.
@robgrz for keeping things rolling along nicely of the software and including MeshCam with the Nomad - it got me through the first rounds of tricky 3D projects and primed me for Fusion360!
@Jorge for unhesitatingly offering to replace the the bed of my Nomad when I found it was uneven (and at the same time mentioning to face it off - which I did!)
@wmoy for taking the available C3D learning material to another level, both pre and during C3D. Avid DFX podcast listener as well!
@WillAdams for getting to Nomad posts faster than i and answering the unanswerable.
@ all the C3D staff who work the levers behind the scenes!
@ the stack of regular posters here - is there anything you guys don’t know/haven’t tried?
I have really enjoyed my Shapeoko. I appreciate Will Adams answers and attention to detail. Having Rob and Edward answer questions as well as Luke is incredible. I used to work for Oracle and Larry Ellison nevered answered customer questions. I really like the continual improvement of software and hardware. Carbide3d has hit the sweet spot of customer service an product improvement. Thanks to all and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
Thanks for all the positive feedback and thanks for making the decision to pick up a Nomad or Shapeoko and become part of the Carbide 3D family.
In addition to our growing (and spectacular) support staff, I think you’ve all seen the acceleration in product development, software releases and content in the past year. This is only possible because of everyone who took a leap of faith and bought a machine from us. We really cannot thank you all enough and we’ll keep working to make those machines even better for you.
We’ve got a lot more planned for the coming year so, if @Jorge, @edwardrford and I don’t mess it up, 2020 will be even better than 2019.
But really this whole community is great with helping out when issues arise, and they can be very informative even if it isn’t specifically for information pertaining to carbide3d products.
Also carbide3d has been great all around with help and even with recognizing people’s contributions to the forums. I was very surprised after my gallery post that I received some stickers and a shirt, definitely makes a person feel good about the things they are making. And the shirts are great, I was expecting one of the cheap ones that didn’t fit quite right and didn’t feel great either. The one sent fit great and was soft, my wife steals it like she does with most of my other soft/comfy shirts.
You guys are all great and I can’t wait to see what the future brings from you guys, and hope that this community continues to grow and thrive.
I think everyone before this post said it all I am so glad I decided to go with a Shapeoko this forum and the staff at Carbide are very special and I hope they all have a very Merry Christmas and great New Year looking forward to another great year with you all here.
Even if the machine was not so great, I would still recommend a Carbide 3D machine to anyone, and have, just for the community and support. I’ve had a couple of extremely small issues and the fix was on the way before I could even ask. Both issues were things that I had planned on taking care of myself, but the support is always above and beyond at Carbide.
Outstanding company that really does treat their customers like family.
Anyone remember when the Shapeoko 3 was handheld? Can’t track down video now.
I’m glad that changed and I’m glad I waited for the more automated one.
Can’t wait to see what you guys cook up in 2020!
For folks who aren’t in on the joke, back when the Shapeoko 2 was being sold by Inventables and used a cordless rotary tool (Altocraft was bundled), Paul Kaplan I think it was, put out a gag video where the tool alone for handheld use was billed as a Shapeoko 3.
I’d also like to add my thanks to the community for being such a nice group of folks, and a pleasure to work with and help out.
Happy Christmas! Merry Hannukkah! Joyous Kwanzaa! Peaceful Pancha Ganapati! Yuletide Greetings! Festive Donghzi!
(my apologies to folks who celebrate Newtonmas or Zamenhof Day — my vocabulary has run out and I don’t want to repeat)
Big thanks to C3D and what I consider to be the best/most helpful forum on the interweb! This forum is and has always been “come as you are” where folks can get help regardless of their level of experience. I’ve rarely (if ever) seen a new member ask a question and gotten “RTFM!” or “Do you know what the Search button is?” or any of the other “I’m better than thou” responses I see on so many other forums. Every once in awhile we get a new member that has a tough question, but is too hard headed to listen to the answers given, but folks here stay patient and keep giving answers without attitude. So thank you all for helping this hard headed forum member in keeping his machine running smooth for over 3 years now.
C3D have been awesome! Support, customer care, just awesome. The forum here has been a huge help as well. As, DanolnTx pointed out, there is very little of the “better than thou”, and folks help out folks. So, to the C3D folks, and those on the forum, I thank you.
