After I manually Zero with the endmill Im using. I go ahead and run. It goes through the motion, jogs over to the bitsetter, and when its time to start cu Westfield Fire Inside ladder.nc (151.8 KB)
tting, it doesnt cut starting at my specified Z. It starts much higher.
Check that the Z Zero in your design matches the Z Zero you set on the machine. You get this behaviour if the design is set to bottom-of-stock (wasteboard), but you zero off the top-of-stock.
Also, for the future, the design file is way more useful than the .NC file for diagnosing problems.
After setting Z, and after manually changing the tool using the “Load new tool” button, what happens if you check your Z-axis by using the Rapid Position button to move to Z+6mm?
What @WillAdams is trying to get at is never change the bit without the software or the load new tool button. If you manually change a bit the BitSetter and the previously Z zero are not synchronized. Always be prompted to change a bit and never jog to the front and just change the bit.
