You don’t, the BitRunner is for automating the start/stop of a router from the G-code. With your VFD/spindle, you already have that.
That is what I thought. I wounder if this can be used to start/stop the vacuum system? I think it can.
Yes, absolutely, this is actually what I do with my BitRunner, so I was a bit fast to answer that you don’t need it. It’s actually very convenient to have the shopvac starting and stopping automatically
With these 3 Molex parts, you will not need to replace your board enclosure’s cover. You will just pass the wires through the default wires pass-through in the enclosure. The connector that needs to be soldered to the board is a vertical connector and not the right-angled one.
I have used this for to start my vacuum cleaner. I managed to find a local importer, otherwise the postage was double the price of the part.

I think that the BitRunner is more complex than that switch as it interfaces with the Shapeoko and carbide motion directly and controls the on and off automatically of anything attached to it. It works directly with Carbide Motion to improve workflow.
That switch would still need a manual operation to switch the master on and off which is not the point. Its the sort of switch you would find in the “take off” socket on a shop vac for instance. But I’m no expert in these things.
