Bit Setter Cable and Front Plate Extension Cable

I just received my Shapeoko 5 Pro machine. All of the assembly went smoothly right up to installing the Bit Setter.

I read previous threads (January) about the incorrect wiring. There was a color-code diagram in the middle of the very long Shapeoko 5 thread. It appears that both the 150mm Bit Setter cable (3-pin connectors on both ends) and the 1500mm Front Plate Extension cable (3-pin connector on one end and 4-pin/3-wire connecter on the other) supplied with my new machine are wired correctly.

Which one should I use? My inclination is to use the long 1500mm 4-pin/3-wire connector and somehow secure the gray shielded cable to the outside of the right side frame. At least that would give the 4-pin/3-wire connector of the wiring harness something to do. But . . . the short 150mm cable plugged into the Bit Setter and front frame makes a much cleaner installation. Neatness counts.
