After connecting to my Shapeoko 5 Pro, I initialize the machine and it returns to the tool change location prompting “Tool Change Required. Please insert tool” I already have the #101 0.125 Ball Nose inserted. The router positions itself over the bit setter and proceeds lowering in the Z direction and continues pounding the bit setter. Not sure what is going on? This happened during my first test run and bit zero was on in settings. After turning bit zero off, it stopped but now it is doing this again. Any advice for a noobie?
Power up the machine and connect to it and then press the BitSetter button — what shows under Active Inputs on the Settings page?

Hi Will,
When following your directions and pushing the BitSetter manually after connecting, PROBE is displayed under the GRBL Active Input Pins.
Thanks,
Josh
BitSetter periodically working. Trying to cut thin material 0.115". Setting Z using the paper method. After the machine uses the BitSetter prior to running the program, the bit now floats above the material and does not cut the material.
