Bit setter problem new user

Trying to calibrate my bit setter. After connecting to the cutter, and initializing machine my software is not giving me the option to JOG the machine as it should per the training video. How can that be???

Did you DISABLE the bitsetter? To set up the bitsetter, you must disable it. You do this after you connect, but before you initialize.

The problem is I am not getting “ JOG” in the green tool bar at the top of the screen

What is your machine doing? Please let us know at support@carbide3d.com

The sequence of events is as follows:

Power on Shapeoko and connect but do not initialize

Go into settings and the second tab comes up first and uncheck the BitSetter

Go back to tab one and enter the configuration and Z type and send the config.

Then initialize. After initialization completes the router will set in the back right corner.

Then you can go to jog if it is there. Often the minimum movement is the default so you will have to + up to fast.

If you do not initialize you will never get the jog so make sure the initialization is complete/completing.

If the initialization works then jog over to the BitSetter and center the bit over it and then go to settings and use the current position to set for the BitSetter and check the BitSetter enable box. Then initialize and the initialization finishes. The router will come to the front center and prompt for a bit. Insert the desired bit and leave the one that is already in the router and hit resume. The router travel over to the BitSetter and plunges fast and trips the red light on the BitSetter. Then the router rises and comes back down slowly and the red light is triggered again. Then the router will come back to the front center and you are ready to load a file and start a job.
