So far the Bitrunner installed well (there is a wicked tight fit into the board connector) but now we seem to have lost the popup window telling us the RPM of the router to set.
We get the popup to change the tool, once we click OK it then goes to the offset and starts working. How would we know what RPM to set on the router when we change the tool? Are we missing something?
I’ve just always set up my files so that they all run at the same router speed (RPM) — for on-the-fly spindle speed you’ll need a spindle w/ a VFD connected to the controller such as the Carbide 3D VFD Spindle.
Being the sole operator of my Pro, It’s not an issue for me. I adjust the spindle speed on the fly based on the sound, and the chips. For those cases that the machines are in a makerspace, or operated by by inexperienced operators, that would be helpful to have. I would find it to be another annoying popup window, if it couldn’t be turned off.
Just to be clear. Before we installed the BitRunner we would get a pop up window “change tool to XYZ” then we would get another pop up window “Set router to XX,XXX rpm” and “turn on router”.
With Bitrunner turning on/off the router I get the removal of “turn on router” but some toolpaths need a different RPM. When we get the “change tool to XYZ” it would be great it that window included “Set RPM to XX,XXX”. For now we have to write down the recommended RPM for each toolpath and remember to change the RPM when we change the tool. This is very prone to people forgetting.
