Bitsetter Issue Bottoming Out

After I run a file or two, The Z axis will bottom out on the Bitsetter (broke the tip off of a 30 vee). If I turn the machine off, wait a minute and turn it back on it won’t do it again. Has anyone else run across this problem lately? I can repeat the Add New Tool and it get “better” each time I re run it.Usually on the third re run attempt it performs “normally” again.

Is there a fix for this, or will I have to continually turn my machine on and off again? Having to replace bits because the machine is snapping the tips off is ridiculous.

We get occasional reports about BitSetters but is usually about depth incorrect. I do not recall anyone having your particular problem. If the BitSetter is under warranty talk to support. If it is out of warranty then maybe take it apart to see if it is full of dust.

Rather than breaking bit tips try using the Settings Menu and Debug and depress the BitSetter button and see if it registers as activated. I would also do this after an incident to see if the button is being activated.

The green light comes on but the z doesn’t stop. I’ve tried to recreate it, but it only seems to do it when I’m zeroing the axis’s before starting a job.
