Bitsetter keeps sticking

When I got my bitsetter, the button didn’t move. It was stuck. I pressed firmly and released it, but it kept sticking. I pressed it several times and seemed to loosen it so it’s usable, but now it’s sticking again. I haven’t used it many times. Does anyone have any tricks? Would wd40 damage it? Also, is the light supposed to light up as soon as it’s depressed? My button goes down 1/16”-1/8” before lighting up. I was wondering if that’s normal.

On mine the button goes down a little bit before lighting up. I think that aspect is normal.

while the “sticking” part is not normal, that part is. The Bitsetter internally has a proximity sensor that detects the bottom end of the button (not visible from the outside), and triggering only occurs when the button has traveled downwards enough that it’s now close to the sensor. Anyway, contacting support is the right way to have this fixed (the sticking part)
