Will it kill my accuracy if I just glue it back on?
there might be a difference if you were to not rezero. but as long as the connection is rigid and you re-zero. Moving forward it’s all relative.
The first time I used my S03XL i used a blower to clean up t he dust and my magnet flew off never to be found again. A few people have lost their magnet and the advise was to use some sort of sticky glue to keep the magnet from flying off. I would not recommend a permanent type of glue because you could damage the magnet and need to replace it.
The BitSetter is not sensitive to the height of the button but when it is triggered. You want to maintain the approximate height of the original button but a few thousands will not effect the accuracy of the BitSetter.
As folks have noted, the measurements are relative so if you:
- glue it back it place
- re-initialize/home
thereafter all the dimensions will be fine.
I ground mine off when surfacing. Had a rare earth magnet that I placed on top. No issues.
I accidently drilled through mine but they sent me a new one oops coincidently I did lose the plastic light indicator haha.
