Hi there I am on a shapeoko pro.
Bitsetter checks the bit and parks in the center of the table, at the very front after it calibrates.
This is totally in the way especially if I’m doing work on the bed.
My question is, can i somehow change the park position to be to the back and off to the side instead of being up front and center?
The newest versions of CM do not go to the BitSetter after initialization. The CM program will send to the BitSetter after setting zeros to make the offset from the home position. After the BitSetter routine the router moves to the left of the BitSetter and waits for a file or other command. So it is normal for the machine to park in the front close to the BitSetter. Before in previous versions after initialization the park was near the same place but has moved slightly.
Some people have reported that unless you make a trip to the BitSetter the X Y and Z zeros are not persistent after a power cycle. CM remembers but they are not set until a trip to the BitSetter. So if you are doing the same job over and over you can do a “Change Bit” to get the router to travel to the BitSetter. I have not personally had this happen because I always set X Y and Z zeros for every new job. Some people always use the same X and Y and only change the Z if new material is put on the spoilboard. The BitSetter is highly integrated into the performance using CM.
