BitZero V2 Z heigh bed measurement

Just a quickie, am I supposed to flip the bitzero v2 on its ‘back’ to measure the Z height from the bed? The 2 edges with plastic when the right way up would suggest I’d need to as it wouldn’t be flat but I wanted to just double check there’s not somehitng I’m missing.

No, don’t do that, the bottom isn’t conductive and the measurement won’t work.

The BitZero should be placed fully on a surface when probing Z only — the software adjusts for the added height, see:

Great thanks, I’d just had an issue when doing a double sided job first side measured off stock, 2nd side off bed - supposed to be super accurate. I must have done something wrong since it didn’t go the full depth on the 2nd side. Though it might be because I didn’t do the z height by flipping the bitzero.

The BitZero has two positions it is used in. For a corner measurement the 2 walls fit over the edge of the material. The second position is Z only and the two walls sit on top of the material or bottom depending on which your CC file was assigned as Z zero. When you hit the probe button in CM you get a choice of several types of measurements. When you measure on the corner CM and the controller compensate for the height difference if you are only measuring Z.
