Board flattening

How do I set up a tool-path with horizontal motion to flatten a board in Carbide Create It wants to start in the middle and move in a rectangle pattern outward.

To control where the machine cuts you will need to draw the desired toolpath:

When I flatten a project or my spoilboard I use Whiteside 6210 1inch 3 blade fly bit. If my project is 5" x 10" I make a box 6" x 11" and set a toolpath wirh a pocket with 0.010" depth. The 0.010" is also my doc for my fly bit. This results in a single pass at 0.010". Suggest you put pencil marks all over the board. If after all pencil marks are gone you are through. If pencil marks are still visible then off the project jog down to z zero then 0.010". Set z zero and rerun job. Repeat this untill all pencil marks are gone.

A pocket for me starts in the middle and goes in a rectangle pattern outward.

I made my material and rectangle 1/2" larger all around so the whole surface gets machined with no corners left uncut or thin line around outside left uncut.
