Boundary Check Warning

I have a permanent set up for 12 inch round signs on my 5 pro. Today was setting up to do a 12 inch project (I’ve done dozens on this table location) and received “Project will hit the right of the machine (X+). (The program zero is 6.9mm too far right).”

Reprogrammed project and reinitialized machine and it repeated same message. Started the program and bit tried to enter part from the right side of the project which is opposite of the actual program.

Have not had any issues with the machine or control until this. Could not find any previous topics about this. Need some guidance.

Did you set your workpiece zero point before loading the file? It could be remembering the zero point from the previous job.

Good point - reset everything to make sure and it gave same reply

When you loaded the file into Motion, did you look at the graphic to ensure the zero is where you intend for it to be?

Just checked - set for lower left corner in cc. Also, in cm it shows in the preview in the lower left corner.

I moved the x axis zero to the left 1 inch and message went away so the 6.9mm warning was real to the controller. Don’t feel comfortable thinking the controller wants me to move a permanent setup - I mean I can, but I won’t know why things changed.

Something different in the file?

Post it and a photo of the machine at the origin w/ a rule or tape measure along that axis?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bug in the X/Y bounds check but it’s ultimately just a warning.

If you’re confident it’s not a problem, it’s OK to hit the start button. Carbide Motion won’t limit the travel at all once the part is running.

Instead of measuring from the right rail, measure from the center of the tool with the X axis at it’s plus (right) limit. Or just click on the word “Position” to change it to “Machine Position”, and check the X value of your zero point.

It looks like the highest X value in the file is X12.104

Folks, I discovered my mistake. My original zero was center of this fixture. The new program was set up with center at lower left of project. I zeroed the fixture like always and threw everything off by about 6 inches.

Sorry for the rookie mistake and thanks for the attempt to help.

Appreciate your time - I was never supposed to be that close to the edge of x operation. Wrong zero point caused the issue.
