I want to make some sharpie signs to advertise an estate sale, using big block letters that are partially filled in for visibility, like the red hashing in this picture:
Can this be done in Carbide Create? I tinkered with the “texture” toolpath using a .01 depth, but the simulation shows all kinds of random movements which would take forever.
The engraving toolpath will do the crosshatch & the outline.
The facing toolpath will do just the crosshatch, with stepovers on the outline.

If you use a sharpie, know that the ink is alcohol based and is super sensitive to UV light. I made yard sale signs, and the dark purple was a very pale pink after 7 days in the western Washington sun.
The red went to a faded orange in the same time frame.
Ha ha. That was my sign from a year ago. House finally sold!
Notice that I used a black outline around the letters to make them stand out better. Get it spaced right though so it doesn’t bleed with the color.
I used Vectric on that one.
EDIT: come to think of it, I actually created that as a demo for a realtor much longer ago and used a Dragknife to cut the coroplast into the shape of a house. But I did use it at our house when we finally convinced our realtor to do an open house.
Like @CullenS, I used Vectric to make my signs, (actually laid out text in Inkscape and then opened the SVG in Vectric to create the gcode) but I am sure CC can do it as well.
