Can someone help me fix this?

I am experiencing a bumping/vibrating occurrence when homing in the machine. I just finished assembling everything which seemed to go fine. Now I am stuck. I hope this video helps explain my issue.

Make sure you’ve sent the machine configuration: https://docs.carbide3d.com/support/carbideupdater/#carbide-motion-v4

There is a basic page on troubleshooting the homing switches at: https://docs.carbide3d.com/software-faq/home-switch-troubleshooting/ There is also a Carbide 3D Answer video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7lOLMAcl_0&feature=youtu.be

Please check that the switches are plugged in correctly, work properly — when the machine powers up the homing indicator lights should flicker on/off, then once the controller is booted up you can test the switches by pressing them — the matching light should light while the switch is pressed (closed), and should go off when the switch is released (open).

Please make sure that the machine can mechanically close the appropriate homing switch on an axis before reaching the limit of travel along that axis — if it can’t, it should be possible to adjust a problematic switch’s placement by loosening the hardware in question, pulling it into a better alignment and then tightening it. The machine being out of square can also affect this, squaring up the machine, or more expediently, securing a small block or plate for the homing switches to contact may be necessary.

@TryPeace CHeck my reply on your other thread. Probably best to continue the discussion there for continuity’s sake.

@neilferreri I did notice the switch is not being engaged because the switch plate is bumping into the belt buckle. It’s like the alignment isn’t quite precise. I will have to try and make some adjustments. Do you have any suggestions?

Or here.

Got any washers? Make that spacer a little longer by adding them.

Forgive my ignorance. This is my very first CNC and learning as I go. Where do you suggest I put the washers? On the switch itself?

On either end of the spacer, effectively making it longer so the switch clears the belt clip.

Sounds good. I’ll try that out and let you know. Thanks.

Alternatively, I have twisted the position of the belt slightly by releasing the cap screw and turning the L bracket a bit so the V wheel clears the clip.

@TryPeace Any luck?.

Yeah I got the y switch fixed. Now I need to get the x switch fixed. I’m messing around with it right now. The washer idea was genius.

@neilferreri I got it working! Thanks so much for your help. I am sure I will have more questions later on. I will be sure to reach out. Cheers.

Great! What was wrong with the X?

Similar issue. It wasn’t being engaged so I had to adjust the screws and spacers a bit to turn the switch just enough to touch the end. @neilferreri
