Please help cant start mi new shapeoko 5 pro 4x4 just purchase i recived 4 days ago i open and install the machine and when i tried initialize machine spindle go to the coner and error come out say :GRBL Alarm 8 : Homing Failed .cycle failed to clear limit swith when pulling off . any body can help me i dont sleep in the las 2 days tried fix this .

Likely you need to adjust the proximity switch/switches. The SO5 moves to the back right corner and from other posts it bumps 3 times. If it finds the proximity switch it moves slightly off the trigger point and that is called pull off. The triggering of the switches sets up the internal coordinates of the machine. The SO5 is ball driven but power off the machine and manually the machine to the as far as you can. Then connect but do not initialize. In the Settings (depending on the version) there is a tab that shows the active inputs. You can then adjust the proximity switches so they are active. It is not an uncommon problem for a brand new machine to have the proximity switches adjusted. After you get the 3 proximity switches triggered you can try to initialize.

Happy to hear you got it working. I got an S05 4x4 recently and had to tighten up a number of things that maybe came loose during shipping. I found it worthwhile to go through and tighten every bolt I could find (including the little tiny ones on the piece that connects the ball screws to the motors - when that came loose, one axis didn’t move anymore, which drove me crazy for a couple days). Still don’t really know what I’m doing, but at least the machine is working good. Good luck.
