Carbide create and motion designs look different

Im doing a project. Ive drawn the project in Create. Ive double checked all my measurements. But once i get the finished project finished it has shifted over. Just curious if anyone else has had this issue. I

included 2 images. I can supply more if needed.

Just asking… Is the design centered on the material in CC?

To confirm, the stock is the same size?

Origin set consistently between the two runs?

Could something mechanically have interfered?

The design is centered, at least in my eyes.

stock is the same size. I have not changed the origin. In both the pictures I attached it did the same thing. One of the attempts I did several weeks ago. The other was just today. The stock is only a 1/16" smaller than the original. The process from Create to Motion has shifted the lettering and design in general up and to the right.

If the stock is smaller, then it will be shifted — if you wish to use slightly variable size stock, then the best thing to do is to set up the file to the smallest size stock you will use and set the origin at the center.

So instead of having the origin set at “bottom left” for example. Set the orgin to center?

Yes, That way the stock size doesn’t make that much difference. I do this with material that is bigger than my cutting area allows

So I have finally got around to trying out your suggestions. I adjusted the origin so it is in the center of my project. I set zero, and all that is needed before starting the project, after it came out looking like this. Sorry for all the questions and problems i am having.

Again just asking… Is your X/Y zero’d at the origin?

im not sure if it was. I did the steps that the tutorial tells you to. “Put the bit on the stock and see if there is slight friction when a paper is underneath the bit.” From there, I zeroed everything. Then i started the project

Yes that will zero all 3 axis when you click zero all. So as long as your zero’ing was done at the center of your material you should be good to go

Ok, thank you. I will try that out and see.
