Carbide Create Build 832

There are serious issues with file saving in the new CC8. When I go to pull the file back up all of the 3D data and cut data is GONE.
Is anyone else having this issue???

We are up to 836:

Where are you saving? File path? Using what file name?

Mac OS or Windows?

Are the files still present in File Explorer/Finder?

Thank you for the updated build. I am saving the files to s NAS drive. I use both mac and windows OS. And yes you can view the files and open them but the only info present is the basic file, no tool path info and no “3D” info.

Please try saving the files to a local drive and then copying them to the drive.

If that doesn’t work, please send us a file which does not save as expected and let us know the full file path which was used when attempting to save.

@PaulB, are these files that were already saved and opened with V8, or are they files created with V7 that you are just now opening with V8? The What’s New in V8 document says

* Files from prior versions will not load 3D components in V8. There were too many changes to the internal format for the new capabilities of 3D, and there was no good way to map existing 3D components into V8.

Sorry if I’m out of line, but for completeness I gotta ask…

Licensees are the same on all machines?

for me it happened that V6 projects did not open in V8. So I still have a V7 installed, have to open and save under V7 so that V8 can open the project then from the V7-type of file…

Saving and coping works but I use two different computers to design and then cut. It is much easier to save to the NAS drive. This is one of the files and the path =

I haven’t tried to save and reopen since I installed build 836, I will let you know as soon as I have a chance to do so.

Thank you for your time in trying to resolve this issue.

Opens fine here:

My recommendation has always been to work from/with local storage and only copy to a network drive when done.
