I was having a problem with Carbide Create every once and a while where files won’t open. The program just freezes and I have to force close. I discovered a quick fix that I thought I would share with you all that works every time and maintains your custom tools.
Copy your custom tools to your desktop (C:\Users\user name\AppData\Local\Carbide 3D\Carbide Create\tools)
Delete entire CARBIDE 3D folder (C:\Users\user name\AppData\Local)
Now I’m wondering if I should setup a job to keep my tools synced. When I’m out and about I’ll layout a job on the laptop, on the machine shop computer when attending the Shapeoko. I’ve run into confusion a few times when looking for a tool that I added on one machine and not the other.
Best thing is to put the file(s) on a network share which both computers mount and put shortcuts/aliases of them which Carbide Create will find/use from each computer.
